İmren İyem is an abstract female painter from Turkey born in Diyarbakır in 1964. İmren graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Education, Department of Painting with a degree. She performed 13 solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions including major art fairs in Turkey and abroad, namely in Europe and CIS. İmren İYEM is a member of of the United Painters and Sculptors Association BRHD and continues to work in Ankara, Turkey. Her works can be seen in public collections and exhibitions in Turkey and outside.

Abstract Landscape series express a kind of bridge between time, nature and the sensible. Since the launch of our exhibition idea, Studio ii had the pleasure of working closely with a photographer and an architect bringing to life special pictures and ideas for exhibition. It's about time and timelessness, freedom and peaceful possibility.

"My work is about freedom and peaceful possibility. We all are artists, freedom beings. My personality and ethnic background plays a part in the process of developing new ideas and finding inspiration to create authentic and uplifting pieces. My paintings are inspired by many facets of ancient civilizations of East Turkey where I was born. A blend of personal dream fragments, childhood memories, and some fantasy invite the viewer to discover that nature has such richness and variety in cultural and natural resources. My paintings are abstract transforming memories into moments of tranquil introspection. Although abstract art movement has lots of female practitioners, this is less so in the country I am living. My style interacts with the subconscious when I paint a canvas that translates the spiritual and emotional state of that moment as if listening to music."
